Beyond material, design is your first line of defense. Look for:

* Minimal seams and apertures: No handholds or gaps for leverage.

* Tamper-proof fasteners: All bolts should be on the inside.

* Anchoring systems: In-ground sockets or surface mounts to prevent tipping.

* Smooth, non-porous surfaces: Makes graffiti removal easy.

So, my final take? For the *most* vandal-resistant option, go with heavy-duty, welded stainless steel with a secure, intelligent design. For high-traffic public areas where budget is key, thick, reinforced powder-coated steel or high-end composites are excellent. Always pair your material choice with a smart, anti-ligature and anti-graffiti design and secure installation. It's about creating a system that's more frustrating and time-consuming to damage than it's worth.
