Make your bin uniquely identifiable. Clearly mark it with your house number using permanent paint or large, sturdy labels. Thieves are less likely to take something that is easily traced. You can also consider using a GPS tracker designed for valuables, placing it discreetly inside the bin if theft is a recurring serious issue.
