First, give the can a good rinse with a garden hose to remove loose dirt. For mild stains, create a natural cleaning paste. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water, or use lemon juice. Apply it directly to the rust spots and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. The mild acid helps dissolve the rust.
