The short answer is that a damaged urban trash bin is usually treated as a delivery or warranty issue, not as a normal change-of-mind return. Most reputable suppliers will ask you to report the damage quickly—often within 24 to 48 hours of delivery, or within the window stated in their return policy—and they’ll usually offer a replacement, a replacement part, a repair, or a refund once the damage is verified.
When the bin arrives, inspect it before you sign for it if possible. If the damage is visible, note it on the delivery receipt and take clear photos of the bin, the packaging, and the shipping label. Keep the original packaging and don’t put the bin into use if you plan to claim a replacement or refund. Then contact the seller with your order number, photos, and a short description of the problem. Many sellers will cover return shipping for verified shipping damage, but you should always check their specific terms.
A typical damaged-item policy works like this: report the issue promptly, provide photos and order details, keep the item unused and in its packaging, and wait for the seller’s inspection or approval. Once approved, the seller may send a new bin, ship replacement parts such as a lid, wheel, or axle, or issue a refund. Custom colors, special order sizes, or already-installed bins may have stricter rules, but genuine transit damage is usually still covered. The key is to document everything and contact the seller as soon as you notice the problem.
