That's an excellent question, and one we get a lot from customers who've had cheaper bins crack or fade after just one season. You'll be pleased to know that UV resistance is a top priority in our design. Our outdoor trash bins are manufactured using high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene resins that are compounded with advanced UV inhibitors. This isn't just a surface coating; these stabilizers are integrated throughout the entire material during production.
What this means for you is real-world protection. The bins are engineered to reflect and absorb the sun's damaging ultraviolet radiation, significantly slowing down the molecular breakdown that causes brittleness, color fading, and surface chalking. While no plastic is completely immune to decades of relentless sun exposure, our bins are formulated to maintain their structural integrity and appearance for years. You can expect them to resist becoming brittle and cracking in summer heat, and their colors will stay vibrant much longer than untreated alternatives. For the absolute longest life, we still recommend placing them in a shaded area if possible, but you can have confidence that our bins are built to handle full sun exposure season after season.
